๐ Last week, the FAMOS-Project team organised another co-design workshop on floating islands, this time in Nicosia, Cyprus ๐จ๐พ.
Following our previous workshops in Gdynia, Poland ๐ต๐ฑ, and Grimstad, Norway ๐ณ๐ด, we brought together Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot participants, alongside diverse stakeholders, to explore a fundamental set of questions:
๐ก Why, what for, and for whom should floating archipelagos be developed in the Mediterranean Sea?
But we didnโt stop at human perspectives! ๐ We also invited a persona representing the Mediterranean Sea itself to the table, encouraging participants to imagine floating infrastructures from a more-than-human perspective.
๐ Through Virtual Reality (VR), participants could also virtually walk across the proposed floating archipelagos, experiencing potential futures before they become reality and critically reflecting on their possibilities, challenges, and implications. It was an incredibly productive workshop, full of diverse perspectives, critical discussions, and creative ideas about the future of our seas!
๐ฎ๐น Next stop: Piombino, Italy! Stay tuned for our upcoming workshop and the FAMOS Co-Design Report, coming soon!
