⚡ Today, together with the students of Technology and Transformation at the Institute of Sociology, Jagiellonian University, we had a great opportunity to visit the cogeneration power plant in Kraków 🏭, which supplies heat and electricity to our city.

During the visit we saw the heart of the plant:

• 🖥️ the power plant control room,
• 🔥 the boiler houses,
• 🔌 the stations transmitting energy to the grid,
• 💨 the flue gas and water treatment installations.

With our excellent guide, an engineer working at the plant, we also talked about the changes the plant is going through right now, including the new gas-fired units under construction and the broader path towards decarbonisation 🌱. Seeing these infrastructures up close made it much easier to discuss how large-scale energy transitions actually unfold, on the ground and in the everyday life of a city.
